Rob McNealy, long term Husky Sport supported Supermoto racer has for
2008 decided to try his hand at road racing in the new Moto 450
Championship being run by Thundersport GB and naturally Rob is racing a
Husqvarna...






The Moto 450 series is designed to be a low cost entry class into road
racing using a modified 450cc MX or Enduro bike. The regulations state
you must retain the standard frame, swing arm , engine and engine
mounting points and the bike you see pictured here is based on a 2008
model Husqvarna TE450 Enduro bike.






With the fitment of digital fuel injection and a six speed gearbox as
standard, the '08 TE450 was the natural choice for the Moto 450 bike,
which has been built by HM Racing in Kent and recently had it's debut
at Brands Hatch






In it's initial 'shakedown' test the Husqvarna Moto 450 was clocked at
125mph on the timing gun at Brands and riders report superb stability
and smooth power. Development work is continuing, the engine curently
is standard but the regulations permit a maximum of 65bhp so HM will
now start turning one of the best enduro engines on the market into a
true road racer.
