Übersetzung: "Wächter" in ...

Hi,
im Film "Hinterm Horzont" mit Robin Williams (lief am Freitag auf RTL 2
kam ein Wort vor das auif einen schiffsfrack stand (in der hölle)
die deutsche übersetzung lautet Wächter...weiss bloß nicht was es für eien sprache war...evtl. Latein. Ich glaube das Wort endete mit "...brus"

Ich ging die Treppe rauf und sah,
dort einen Mann der war nicht da.
Er war auch heute nicht mehr dort...

genau das war es...nur anders geschieben...ich glaub es wir "cehebrius" geschrioben, aber ich bin mir nicht sicher...kann mir eienr die korrekte schreibweise nennen??
